Terms of Service

The short version. Prepshotz is a free beta, provided as-is. You keep ownership of the code you write. Use the Service fairly and legally, do not try to break or abuse it, and either of us can end the arrangement. The full detail is below.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Prepshotz Edutech Private Limited ("Prepshotz", "we", "us"), a company incorporated in India (CIN U72900MH2022PTC387631; DPIIT DIPP110269). They govern your use of our website at https://prepshotz.com and our app at https://app.prepshotz.com (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Who can use Prepshotz

You must be 18 or older to use Prepshotz on your own. If you are under 18, you may use it only with the involvement and verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service, you confirm you can form a binding contract with us and are not barred from doing so under any applicable law.

3. The beta

Prepshotz is in beta and free to use. Features may change, be added, break, or be removed as we build in the open, and we may limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We provide the Service "as is" and "as available" during the beta.

4. Your account

You sign in with Google to use the Service. You are responsible for your account and for activity under it. Keep your Google account secure, give accurate information, use one account per person, and tell us promptly at info@prepshotz.com if you suspect unauthorized use. We may refuse, suspend, or reclaim accounts that break these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

To keep the Service working for everyone, you agree not to:

  • misuse, disrupt, overload, or attempt to disrupt grading, other users, or our infrastructure;
  • try to break out of the in-browser sandbox, run code that attacks our or others' systems, or access systems or data you are not authorized to;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach its security or authentication;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service, its problem bank, or its content, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • use bots, automation, or any method to cheat grading, inflate progress, or harvest content;
  • upload malware, infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy, or harass or harm others; or
  • use the Service for anything unlawful, or resell or commercially exploit it without our written permission.

6. Your content

The code, queries, and other work you create on Prepshotz ("Your Content") remain yours. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, run, process, reproduce, and display Your Content back to you, only as needed to operate the Service - to grade your work, save your progress, adapt your practice, secure the Service, and improve it. You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights to submit it.

7. Our content and intellectual property

The Service - including the platform, the skill graph, problems, datasets, explanations, hints, text, design, logos, and software - is owned by Prepshotz or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use the Service for your own learning. Except for Your Content, nothing here transfers any ownership or grants you rights to our problem bank or content beyond using the Service. "Prepshotz" and our logo are our trademarks; do not use them without permission.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties such as Google (sign-in) and Cloudflare (infrastructure). Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that grading or any problem or explanation will be free of mistakes, or that the Service will lead to any particular learning outcome, job, interview result, or certification. This is a beta, meant for practice - not professional, legal, or career advice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Prepshotz and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is free during the beta, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it - which is zero - or the minimum amount required by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Prepshotz harmless from claims, damages, and costs arising out of your misuse of the Service, Your Content, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Prepshotz at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if needed to protect the Service or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. When access ends, the sections that by their nature should survive - for example, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law - will continue to apply. You can ask us to delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, give clearer notice. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. You and Prepshotz agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Akola, Maharashtra, India for any dispute, subject to any non-waivable rights you have under your local law.
